Why Nike?
Intro
Today I want to talk about everybody’s favorite Nike. I want to demonstrate how the company has used social media to market the brand and created an empire of loyal customers.

The company uses different social media platforms to market its products. Some of the platforms are Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter (X), and LinkedIn. The choice of social media platforms is very important. So Nike mostly uses the social media platforms that I mentioned because they are the most popular, and their users are mostly young people. Since the company produces sportswear and shoes, it is necessary to attract the younger generation, who follow fashion trends. Also, Nike mostly targets people with stable incomes and an active lifestyle. However, the company chooses a different marketing strategy, instead of promoting products, they promote the athletes who wear their apparel, which allows Nike to achieve high recognition with less effort.

It is important to note that Nike’s Instagram has a lot of subdivisions such as @nikebasketball, @nikefootball, and etc. Apart from these accounts, their sub-accounts like @nikebasketball have 13.7 million followers, @nikesportswear has 7.9 million followers, and @nikewomen has 7.2 million followers on Instagram.
How Is Nike So Successful?
Experimenting with content formats - Nike loves experimenting with formats and is not entitled to just a specific one. The social media accounts to post pictures, videos, gifs, graphics, and other types of multimedia in order to present their products to the audience. Their posts do not consist of a lot of information, but instead try to draw an emotional connection with the users/customers and express unexpected details. Nike’s informal content aims to reveal the everyday lives of athletes and ordinary people. The main goal is to keep the audience engaged.
Engaging with the audience - Nike wants to be as engaged with the audience as possible because it helps the company to build a closer connection and loyalty. Following viral trends - One of the viral trends that took over the world is sustainability. Of course, Nike followed the trends and embraced the trend by making a commitment to use eco-friendly materials in its products.
Attention to society - Nike pays attention to the customers and listens to their opinions and reviews. It helps Nike to be able to respond quickly to any uprising issues.
Sharing product updates - Nike is really good at marketing upcoming products and uses different social media platforms for that. Besides that, Nike knows how to target specific customers and for example, Nike has a “SNKRS” app for sneakerheads that allows them to get new shoes and apparel as soon as it comes out.
Collaborations with public figures - Nike has brand athletes and celebrities that help to promote the brand. It helps Nike to tap into the influencer’s audience and grow their online presence. Some of the notable athletes and celebrities that Nike has collaborations with are: Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Cristiano Ronaldo, Billie Eilish, Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, Travis Scott, and Serena Williams. This helps them solidify their relationship with their audience and build further trust in their products. My Thoughts on Nike's Social Media Strategy
Simply put it, Nike has done a great job and has taken full advantage of social media platforms to endorse the business and products. They have built an empire of people who love their products and believe that Nike will help them to achieve or become anything they want. Nike’s social media presence has helped to create an environment where people feel inspired, motivated, and excited about Nike’s new product launches. Nike has collaborations with your favorite athletes to help inspire you and show that anything is possible with the Nike way.

I would have to agree with you that the reason Nike excels is due to the fact that they engage their consumers, they post heart warming stories, and also partner with famous influencers and athletes. With Nike being able to partner with such famous influencers it allows them to stomp over any of the other brands because they have such high authority. I also like how you mentioned that Nike makes changes based on what the consumers want, this is another key factor to keep customer loyalty and build a positive brand name. Great work again!
